plus41 represents the voices of the migrants of Switzerland. We are sure you have something to say. You can share your story with us! Just follow the steps below.

1. Give us your full name. This will be published along with your article. We will use your email address to contact you, but it will not be revealed on the website.

2. Decide what type of story you would like to upload. You can choose one from the list below the form.

3. Send us 250 words of your article. You can either send a summary of what you want to say, or you can send an actual sample of your text. If you wish to write a snippet, then send us the complete text. 

4. Please include a short paragraph about why you think you are a suitable writer for the magazine, and why your article is the next article that we should publish.

5. All articles will be edited by the plus41 team. By sending us an article, you are allowing us to read and edit your article. You will get the chance to check the edited version of your article before we publish it.

Please do not send us anything that has been published officially before – but if you want to send in an old blog post from your personal blog, go for it!

Autobiographical: Do you have a story from personal experience that you would like to tell? For instance, about how difficult or easy it was to integrate into Swiss society? Or a story about your quest for citizenship? Or a story about why you fell in love with Switzerland? Then this is the place to send it!

Fiction: Once upon a time, there were barely any stories featuring chocolate brown complexions or bouncy, curly afros. Your story could help us build up a database of stories of diversity! This is also where we will publish any comic strips.

Essays: Is there a specific issue related to migration that you want to address? Is there an important thinker that you think the world needs to know about? Can you maybe explain to us why language seems such an important issue in a nation that is divided into 4 language zones? This is the section for you! Please make sure your article references its sources! If you don't know how to do this, send us a draft and we can have a chat.

Tips & Opinions: This is the lifestyle section, in which readers can gather basic tips on life – which books to read, how to cook a proper Dhal, which movies score points on diversity, and so on.

Snippets: This is where you can publish short, 250-word texts talking about little experiences you have had relating to migration. No explanations are necessary, you can just reveal what happened to you. Once we have read your snippet, we will ask you to send us a photo of you to match the snippet. This will also be published on Instagram.

You have a story, but you cannot write it.

You have an important story to tell. However, you heard about this website from a friend, and you cannot speak German or English. Don't worry! You can team up with someone and coauthor an article. Or we can arrange an interview between an existing author and yourself. Or, just go ahead and write it, and see if someone you know can translate it into German or English. If not, maybe the plus41 team and you can find someone together.
